On behalf of Aventa Dutch Caribbean, Deloitte Dutch Caribbean is looking for candidates for the position of:
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
The position
As CEO, you will report to the Group CEO and set and deliver the strategic and annual operating plans for Aventa Dutch Caribbean. You will translate long‑term trends, competitive intelligence and technology insight into clear strategic priorities and regional growth initiatives. You will own performance management, delivering accurate KPI reporting, forecasts and compliant operational reports to the Group CEO and Board. You will drive commercial growth through partnerships, supplier relationships and new business development across pharmaceutical, marketing and logistics lines. You will strengthen governance, financial discipline and risk management to ensure robust controls and audit readiness. You will champion digital solutions that improve decision‑making, customer service and operational efficiency. You will represent Aventa in regional forums, government engagements and industry bodies to enhance reputation and stakeholder trust.
You will lead the professionalization of the organization, embedding standard operating rhythms, performance management and continuous‑improvement disciplines. You will implement people programs for talent development, succession planning and employee wellness, and resolve complex employee relations matters. You will ensure regulatory and quality compliance across the business, with particular attention to pharmaceutical standards, procurement and logistics. You will oversee disciplined execution of operational KPIs, ensuring ownership, timely corrective actions and improved cost‑to‑serve. You will build and coach a high‑performing regional leadership team that operates independently yet aligns with Group governance. You will manage major contracts, supplier negotiations and financial performance to deliver sustainable margins and growth.
Your profile
You hold a master’s degree preferably in business administration, pharmaceuticals or logistics and have a minimum of 10 years’ progressive senior leadership experience, ideally including substantial exposure at executive (CEO/MD) or head‑of‑business level. You bring in‑depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices, with a proven track record of developing strategy, translating it into operational plans and driving delivery through clear KPIs. You have a strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles and are comfortable producing accurate, compliant operational reports for a Group CEO and Board. You have excellent negotiation skills and a record of building trusted relationships with customers, principals, suppliers, auditors and regulators. You are an independent, entrepreneurial leader experienced in change management and professionalizing organizations (particularly family‑run businesses): strengthening financial controls, upgrading people practices, embedding standard operating rhythms and improving governance and operational processes. You understand logistics, procurement and quality/regulatory requirements relevant to pharmaceutical and regulated services, and you can identify and apply digital solutions that improve decision‑making and business performance. You demonstrate executive presence, sound judgement and resilience under pressure, communicate clearly in written and spoken English and Spanish (Papiamentu is an advantage), and are willing to relocate to Curaçao (if applicable) and travel regionally. You are comfortable operating autonomously with limited on‑island oversight.
